Chong, O.D. is a family owned primary optometric practice in San Francisco’s North Beach. Since 1936, we have been providing healthcare and serving the San Francisco Bay Area longer than Walgreens. With a friendly, multilingual staff, we look forward to treating you with respect, care, and a vision. Join us at 1833 Powell Street in San Francisco for a friendly, professional, and accessible family primary eye care experience, right in the heart of scenic North Beach.

We are open:

Monday-Friday: 9am-1pm and 2pm-5:30pm

Saturday: 9am-12noon and 1pm-4pm

Sunday: Closed

 PREPARING FOR YOUR OFFICE VISIT

1. We have made important changes to our office protocols to ensure everyone’s safety.

2. For patients experiencing any symptoms of acute respiratory illness, such as dry cough, chills, fever, sore throat, loss of taste, or shortness of breath, we ask that you remain home and get well.  To reschedule your appointment beforehand, please call us at (415) 362-2000.

3. if possible, download and complete the registration form prior to your visit. You may e-mail a completed pdf copy of the registration form to richardchongod@gmail.com. please do not send photo files. alternatively, You may bring the completed form to your appointment.

4. Face masks are recommended, but optional, for everyone who comes into the office.

5. Only patients who have an appointment are allowed in our office unless they are a minor, a caregiver or an interpreter.

6. Arrive to our office at your appointment time. If you are early, you may be asked to remain outside or in your vehicle until your appointment time.

7. appointments are staggered to allow for proper social distancing between patients. If we already have another patient in the front area, you may be asked to wait outside our office.

8. Appointments are necessary for everything: Exams, office visits, pick-ups, frame adjustment and repairs.  If you do not have an appointment and we have another patient in our office, we may have to ask for you to wait outside until we are able to help yoU.

9. Infection control is and will always be a top priority.  Our highest standards of sterilization and disinfection will continually be implemented.

10. We have updated our saturday hours. we are now closed for lunch between 12:00 noon and 1:00 pm.
